Kyrielle Cocci is an artist unit by Atsunobu Kohira & Strom Varx.
The unit is named by combing two different meaning, Kyrielle: a score of long stroke notes and music from it, and Cocci: spherical bacteria.
A unique process of making a drawing is key concept of their work.
In the performance, sound vibration is superseded as force of movement.
Once speakers begin to make sound, sprinkled powder of graphite start to moving on a plate covered with vaseline and varnish.
The figures of drawing generated by this process evoke resemblance of the way of culturing slime molds.
Their unique view that reminds Japanese traditional rituals such as Cha-no-yu, and Nou, invite the audiences to the world of illusion.
In last February, at the Centre Mercoeur Paris by IRL production, their new performance attracted huge number of people with enhanced ritualistic foggy atmosphere.
For the micro-mecenat project, they will release the special edition of the artwork on the same line of the performance.
